‘The British Polio Fellowship is a charity formed in the 1930’s as an aid to the many thousands of people who survived the ravages of the frequent polio epidemics which played havoc throughout the UK until the discovery of vaccination. In union with them the Greater Manchester Polio Group was re-formed in 2003 in an effort to help members in Manchester and surrounding areas, who sought information concerning their condition and also enjoy a chat and a coffee with other survivors who may be experiencing the same difficulties.’
